Ceremony to launch work on the priority phase of the Diass special economic zone supported by APIX-S.A and entrusted to a consortium led by SERTEM GROUPE, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Senegal, Mr Macky Sall and his Prime Minister, Mr Amadou Ba.
The priority phase of the ZESID is part of an overall development and servicing project for a 918-hectare site located in the municipality of Diass, in the department of M'Bour, in the region of Thiès.
The works associated with the programme for this 95-hectare priority phase consist of:
- Building a general perimeter fence around the 718-hectare site,
- Building an access road from the A1 motorway,
- Building an access road from the RN1 trunk road, -Development and servicing of a 95-hectare industrial and logistics platform, including:
🔹 General earthworks,
🔹 Roads with surfaced pavement structure, kerbs and pavements,
🔹 Sewerage and rainwater management works for the platform and roadways,
🔹 Electricity and public lighting networks,
🔹 Drinking water supply networks,
🔹 Fibre optic networks. - The construction of a wastewater treatment plant for the 95-hectare site, which will be upgraded to cover the entire 718-hectare site,
- The construction of administrative buildings for APIX.
Financed by the West African Development Bank (BOAD), this project will help to create 9,300 direct jobs and 8,850 indirect jobs in Senegal.
